Razzy makes me laugh. He is such a little stinker. Every night, he is determined to get into our bed. The reason is because he likes to sleep up against you & under all the cover. He's always cold & if he can find a place to snuggle, he will. He always starts out in his own bed, but I probably wake up at least one a night, to put him on the floor. But if Dad has gone to work he can sleep on his side of the bed. What's funny, is Razzy knows it's OK, for him to go on & get in the bed, if Dad has already left for work. He will run, jump on the bed & dive into the covers. I told him, I don't know how he could have made it in Germany...He is a German breed, after all! He hates the cold! When outside, he literally screams to come back in the house. I found some heated pet beds & I think that may just be the trick to keeping out of my bed. He can stay all warm & toasty. A little roasted weenie.
Kelly didn't sleep with us when we first got her. We started out with her in the crate in the kitchen. When we discovered she was house trained, I moved her into her own bed on the floor beside my side of the bed. I guess about a year ago she started sleeping with us. She will get right up against me, then curl her head down under her body. I'm always wondering if she will be suffocated by the covers! So far, she's done just fine. She has little doggy nightmares some times, but as soon as I reach down to touch her, she stops. And when she gets too hot, she moves down to the foot of the bed. I take comfort with her being there, it's like she has always slept with us! Oh, and her bed got put in the garage! (Janet)
ReplyDeleteRuby, our half weenie, is a little "heat hog" too (that's what we call her). Only, we don't let her sleep in the bed, she sleeps next to the heater in our bedroom...I love the term "roasted weenie" why didn't I think of that???
