This book! Wow! I have never read a book that so beautifully wrote someone that is hearing impaired the way that Joanne Bischof does in "Sons of Blackbird Mountain."
So many times these books are about a woman who loses her husband & has to discover a new life for herself. Then one was is very different. You can't put it down. The struggle between the two brothers Thor & Haakon, the cousins of Avon's late husband. She goes to live with them after his death. It's a foreign place to her, the Appalachian mountains. A far cry from her homeland of Norway. This story leaves you wanting more. The storytelling & attention to detail is incredible!
This is the first time that I have ever read a book by Jaonne Bischof & this will not be the last!
