The Mark of The King ~ Book Review

This book! This book! This book! Wow! I'm not saying this in a mean way, but a lot of historical Christian novels are just plain cheesy. They are the same story, with a slightly different setting, But "The Mark of the King" by Jocelyn Green is in a standard all it's own. It's rich in details that dare to "go there." It's not all wrapped in a pretty bow, it can be rare & beautiful all at the same time! This is the first time that I have read any of her work & if her other books are anything like this, I have truly been missing out!

"The Mark of the King" is such an unique setting & one that I'm sure most are not familiar with. It begins in Paris, France in 1719 with a young midwife Julianne. She finds herself in a situation that lands her prison. In order to hopefully find freedom & her brother. She trades her life in prison to exile to the French colony in America.And I'm not going to spoil anything else, because the element of surprise is what is so good about this book!

I rarely read a book & think it should be turned into a film or TV series...But this one should!
