I Remember....

....Where I was on September 11th. I was working at Lane Bryant & it was my day off. D & I were living with parents at the time, so Mom came running into my room that morning, saying that we were being attacked. I ran to the TV & was glued for the rest of the day. I was in shock, plus saddened, maybe even a bit scared. I couldn't help but sit there was tears constantly in my eyes. I called D at work, to make sure he knew & if he was OK. I just wanted him to be home with me.

It was hard for me to leave the constant TV coverage, to go to the bathroom, take a shower, much less work.

It didn't take long for the company I worked for to produce an American flag heart pen (I wore mine today). All of us at work bought one. And since we had a huge shipment, the word got out that we had something Patriotic. It was a literal mob scene. People were just in desperate need to show they supported our country.

One thing, that I do remember about the time after this horrific tragedy, was the overwhelming Patriotism. It brought our country together in a way that I has never been experienced in my lifetime. It's sad that so many have forgotten. Keith & talked about that day on our way to work. I asked D, if they mentioned it at work, he said, "No." I don't understand that. While getting ready for work this am, Good Morning America had a moment of silence, during the time the first plane hit the towers. I stopped, prayed & cried. Did you take a moment & reflect?

  1. That was such a HORRIFIC day. I too was glued to the TV, it seems like for days. Only watching channels that had continuous coverage watching those people franticly looking for their loved ones! My heart still hurts for them. I look at alot of things differently now. You never never know when it may be your last moment. It was on my heart all day.
